Our Work
Haiti Foundation of Hope is involved in the following work:

There are more than 500 children who attend school in Terre Blanche and receive a hot meal during the day. There was once no education available in the community.

There was employment opportunity for the first time in Terre Blanche, Haiti, during the construction of a medical clinic which was completed in early 2007.
- Funding primary school education. This includes providing students with school supplies, uniforms and a hot meal, which is often their only meal of the day.
- Supplementing salaries for primary school teachers.
- Subsidizing secondary school education. There is little opportunity for secondary education in Terre Blanche and the surrounding area, but Haiti Foundation of Hope is working to change that.
- Collaborating with a clean water project. This work has just begun.
- Sending medical/dental/Bible school teams to northern Haiti. For more information on how to become part of a team, click here.
- Maintaining a permanent medical clinic. Construction on a medical clinic building was completed in early 2007. It provides work space for medical staff and visiting teams.
- Assisting in the establishment of a community health program. This program is in the beginning stages.
- Supporting a women’s trade school. The three-year program offers women an opportunity to learn skills such as sewing and cooking. They also learn about early childhood development, nutrition, health and etiquette. The first eight graduates of the school all passed a national exam in February 2006.
- Providing funds for micro-loans.
- Promoting industry leading to independence. During the construction of the medical clinic, local men where hired and trained to do the work, creating the first employment opportunity in Terre Blanche.
- Encouraging the local church in its ministry to the area.
